GARDENSHIP is an inclusive artist-led interdisciplinary makerspace founded in 2019 located in a two acre warehouse in Kearny Point, New Jersey. We provide dynamic art programming to foster creative exchange, exploration, and the creation of new artworks in Hudson County. We also offer free public events throughout the year, robust financial aid for workshops, and artist residencies. Located in an ADA-compliant facility, Gardenship is a creative hub that’s uniquely designed to support large sculptural artworks and installations.

The IN 7 experimental video art residency at Gardenship challenges artists to create site-specific videos within seven days, collaborating with local talent to bring their visions to life. This innovative twist on the 24-hour film challenge culminates in an outdoor drive-in screening and live stream, showcasing the diverse and dynamic art created in just a week. Building on past success, IN 7 (Part 5) promises to deliver another round of exceptional artistic endeavors and community engagement.
Become a Gardenship Resident Artist
Gardenship is a fabrication space with artists in residence. We have artist studios available for rent! There is a 550 sq/ft studio @ $850 per month and a 1,120 sq/ft studio @ $2,500 per month available.
